The Controversy Over The Alexa Widget

In a recent article I wrote I recommended everyone install the Alexa stats box widget on their site to track Alexa traffic. But there is a controversy over both Alexa and whether or not the widget actually works. Does using the widget actually help? Just how does Alexa traffic get counted?
