But when people correctly type the scrambled text shown in an accompanying image–with the tease that she will take off more once the text is typed–it allows spammers access to sites that would typically stop computers automatically

Spam comments with nonsense links to penis enlargements, viagra, herb treatments, porn sites and God knows what else they tend to spam about is something we’ve grown to accept. We accept it as something that occurs, and accept it as coming with the part of letting people comment on your website.

Does spam work? I would say it does work. If not there would not be any spam that floods your mail box or your blog comments. But by the amount of spam I have received, I would say that there are people clicking on the spam link out of curiosity. Me included. There are spam filters available that can be used to filter out spam
