Which Version of "The Office" is Better, American or British?

Before John Krasinski was cast as Jim Halpert on the American version of "The Office," he wondered whether the uniqueness of the British version could ever be duplicated. In fact, when he went in for his audition, he said something like "I hope they don't mess it up" to someone he found out later worked high up on the show. He obviously got the part anyway.
