US versus Canadian airports

I recently flew to the US for business and upon my return to Canada, I realized that there is a huge difference between airports in the two countries. I am not talking about the security checks that are very similar in both countries and in fact, I almost always had the Canadian customs people give me a harder time than their US counterparts. The difference I am talking about is in the overall atmosphere in the terminals.
