Occasionally I come across a candidate that has a hard time accepting that we decided not to hire them.
I call all candidates that were not selected after the interview process to let them know we went in another direction and that I wish them luck in there career pursuit. I follow up that call with a personal email. I want to make it clear; I do not encourage any false hope. On occasion a candidate will call me back after my call and email asking for additional feedback. I rarely provide additional information on our selection to avoid any potential legal repercussions.

This fictitious candidate handled rejection differently then most candidates. No matter how many times I read this letter it cracks me up!...
