The re-imagined version of the 1978 franchise started airing in 2004 on the Sc-Fi channel in the form of a regular show, after a succesful mini-series. It has gone on to win numerous Emmy, Peabody, Hugo and Saturn awards. Prior to this, Ronald Moore had also worked on Star Trek: First contact as well as episodes of Star Trek: The next generation, Carnivale and Roswell.
