What happens if your ball is lost and gone forever by a hazard? You must continue with a new ball. Here’s how:
First, find the nearest spot on the course that allows you complete relief from the hazard area. Mark this spot with a tee.
Next, measure outwards from the area by one or two club lengths away from the hole your are shooting for. Once you determine and take the number of club lengths, using another tee, mark that spot, as well.

Now it’s time to drop the new ball. Stand where you placed the second marker tee. Hold the ball out at arm’s length at shoulder height. Now drop the ball straight down to the ground. You’re now ready to make a shot with the new ball.
