LIfe's not Fair

When I was a kid, anytime I'd say that something wasn't fair, my Dad would quite often reply "life's not always fair". Now that I'm a Parent, I find myself saying the exact same words(mostly to Lauren, my six year old, who is convinced that she's perpetually getting the short end of every deal). Just the other day I actually caught myself thinking the "not fair" phrase.
