The way I look at it is a job is less secure than going out on your own. The reason I see it this was is because you never know when the boss is going to let you go or the company is going to "reorganize" and deem your position redundant. You are not in control of those actions but if you are running your own business things will be difficult at the start but as your business grows you can never be fired - that to me feels way more secure!
