They deleted spammy sites - not low performers. But even with 43% more traffic that will still be under 50 hits. So that real estate might be used for something else soon enough!
What do you think? Do we need it?
Actually, the first time around they removed a lot of good sites and left a bunch of "Made for Affiliate Marketing" blogs in the system. The next round will be to eliminate all "low performing" blogs, ie that don't have their ugly widget displayed above the fold.
