The latest post by Vic on monitorizing a local niche site broken down into a few easy steps. Moniterization of this type of site can be frustrating as normal practices are often not fruitful. a few suggestions he offers are:

1 - Do LOCAL advertising (ie for local restaurants and businesses)

2 - post-date keyword targeted posts

3- when you get the traffic use traditional generic advertising (ie travel sites, insurance, etc)
