Wikia: A Viable Challenge to Google?

Jimmy Wales just announced that Wikia will be going live next week. Wales, the founder of Wikipedia, started Wikia as a rival to Google's search engine. After the phenomenal success of Wikipedia, Wales has clearly demonstrated the power of community-based knowledge. Will he demonstrate success with his new, user-centric, search engine? I have my doubts, but it will be interesting to see what happens.
