Portable Power Pains

Increasingly, our cars are more than transit - they've become homes away from home, mobile offices, and rolling entertainment hubs. So why are we still stuck with these lousy 12-volt power ports (formally, ANSI/SAE J563) in our cars? It’s time that automakers banish cigarette lighter receptacles and integrate standard 115V power outlets in all new cars.
