Transfer Window - Assessing Chelsea Future Development

Chelsea have made their first move in the just opened soccer transfer window by netting Manchester United target Branislav Ivanovic. What does this and future signings hold for Chelsea as a soccer club and in the English Premier League? Will we see a different soccer club with a new fresh style under coach Avram Grant as he tries to mold a team in his (or owner Roman Abramovich's) image? Or will it be the same old boring Chelsea and soccer we are so used to now?
