Barack Obama Birth Certificate Nonsense

Why do so many people want to look at Barack Obama's birth certificate? I really don't understand what they hope to accomplish. John McCain isn't exactly squeaky clean in the birth certificate department, many people question his eligibility to become President as well.

Please let the candidates focus on important issues like the economy. Both of them had at least one parent who was a US citizen so it really should be a non-issue.
