It is certainly in your best interest to have a well trained and well behaved dog. Not only that but a trained dog is a much happier dog. If your dog is trained it is more likely to socialize well with other dogs an less likely to fight with other dogs which is a huge benefit for you if you are taking your dog for a walk.
