The Writers Guild Awards Screen Nominations for 2008 have been announced by the Writers Guild of America. The Writers Guild (WGA) nominates five films in three categories (Original Screenplay, Adapted Screenplay, and Documentary Screenplay) for Outstanding Achievement In Writing For The Screen.

The WGA Outstanding Achievement In Writing For The Screen award is important to the entire film community because it is used as a fairly good indicator, along with some of the early guild nominations, of which movies and which writers will be nominated for the screenplay awards Oscar by the Academy Awards.
