Wachovia Stock Down With All Bank Stock

Is this the beginning of a bank run? Can we be confident in the US banking system that is based on the full faith and credit of the Federal Government, of which everyone is suspicious? Esay for the Fed to say that deposits are insured. But insured with what assets? They could start printing money and hand it out to bank customers. then a dollar would become even more worthless. The Reichmark and the Zimbabwe currency are proof of that.
