My mother-in-law beat breast cancer over 5 years ago and I'm so proud of the way she handled herself and how she's lived since that time.
To honor her and those others around me, I'm leading my company's Relay for Life team on April 5th and I need help with raising money.
Please zoom this up so that more people see it and have a chance to participate. The money that goes to the American Cancer Society has saved countless lives over the years and the more we can do to help, the better off we'll be.
Thank you....please click through to my blog post.

Sad.
I have been on here since day 1 (as have you) and I can't recall the last time you zoomed one of my posts or visited my site - which is cool - you have no interest but expecting people you have no interest in to suddenly take an interest in your posts might be a bit sad in itself.
Just a thought Mike...
Second, I've already publicly stated in a few places that I take it upon myself here to help zoom the NICHE sites that need the help, not the tons of How to Blog posts that we get all the time that usually end up with 10+ higher zooms just because it's about blogging.
There is a site about Hawaii on here and I think his blog deserves my attention more than one that already gets 20+ zooms on every submission. Hence I focus my time here on those submissions. It's what I do, I wont apologize for it.
On a side note, you've only had 11 submissions and the last was 22 days ago? And you are giving me crap about not zooming your posts?
In your comment was a part about expecting people to take an interest in me...when I don't in them.
I think I've been a big part of this place, fighting with Jason for top submissions, 4th in zooming, and so when I ask for a bit of help and get nothing, I kind of take it personally.
Whenever anyone here has asked for help, I've been there. And when I ask for help the first time and get no response, I take it personally.
So frak off really...I respect what you do and how you've helped people out there about blogging, but to call me out on this was lame...you could have asked how your 500+ readers might be able to come to the aid of those with cancer out there, but instead you attack me....
"really? Do You?"
1400 zooms to your 600...well, I guess I do.
Finally, taking an interest in my post wasn't the point, it was to take an interest in helping cancer victims...but I guess you missed that.
"really? Do You?"
I was asking if you zoom "blogging posts" - my bad, could have been clearer. I'm well aware of how many zooms you have made - probably why I noticed the lack of zooms on mine. Makes me think you are disinterested in the social aspect of this site - I zoom people and leave comments, they zoom back, leave a few comments and voila - we get to know each other. This hasn't happened with us and I'm curious - not upset just wondering why you wouldn't want to interact more. As you said my 500 readers could probably help but you might have asked - I'm pretty generous but you've never given me a reason to want to help you.
Mike you seem like a nice guy and you work hard - no denying your output - but when I first saw your post (Cancer and all) I skipped it. If I thought about it at all I just lumped you in with the "group" of people I have no dealings with here and moved on. Today I felt like a dick for not zooming as it was for a good cause so I did. It also struck me that everyone else just skipped you over too - why.
My comment above was posted with that in mind - I'm not calling you out as much as making a suggestion - if I feel this way maybe others do too. Maybe you should mingle more - the blogging group is large and I know you get along good with Vic but how well do you know the rest. I could be off base and it turns out you're friends with everyone on here except me but if that's the case where are the zooms. I like your stuff Mike - just suggesting you socialize more and you might find the support you are looking for.
If nothing else having this little chat is a good way to introduce ourselves and draw people to your post who like to read comments and are looking for a good spat. If you want me to link to your post - no problem but drop in once in a while and say hi.
Chill Mike ... it's all good.
BTW - some one has to fill in Vic - it's too quiet around here with you on your quest for sainthood. lol.
And when you say I need to mingle more, I guess the fact is that I mingle plenty, but I guess just not in your specific circle. I have a lot of friends on my list who have zoomed me, and in turn, I try to go down that list and zoom them. I leave comments, etc.
The fact that Jason Clark and I met because of this place and are good friends now kind of shows that I've "mingled" here...
I just can't mingle with everyone.
And you are right, I don't zoom everyone's post, but like I said, I know you really don't need my help, it's the little guys who need it, the ones who don't have anyone zooming theirs. I see someone new pop up talking about how to get out of debt, so I help him out because I know the likelihood of the main group here helping that guy is lower.
Maybe I've alienated myself a bit because of that, but I just feel like sometimes the "blogging" posts get way more attention than the rest of us, hence me wanting to help them out.
Obviously, if you look to the right, the BLOGGING tag is gigantic...
Maybe the charity post turns people off, but that's sad to me.
Sad that a post on SEO and Cancer could be submitted together, and one would have 3 zooms after 10 hours, but the other could have 15...
Anyways, no hard feelings Grizz, I was defensive because I didn't know why you were giving me crap. I figured we both helped this place in different ways.
Sorry for jumping down your throat...I just really want to raise money for this thing...
I even took down most of my ads and stuff because none of it worked.
Anyways...I think I'm a subscriber to your blog, so I do read it when I can :)
Your site kills me because the amount of content you (and Jason) have is a goldmine with a little SEO and I hate saying it - patience. I have several blogs in your niche and they have made me some decent money but they are crap compared to yours. I drool to think what I could do with it. Sorry I see all blogs from a money potential - admittedly to a fault.
Absolutely no hard feelings and glad to finally meet you.
I mean, for 3 days, I had a Conan O'Brien post that got 5k hits one day, 4k the next and then 3k, and even with Google ads in the upper left of the post, I made maybe $5. It just didn't get clicks.
I think Vic once pointed out that his Bubalicious site had so much content that wasn't "Great", that people looked for ways off...whereas Jason and I tend to write GOOD content that doesn't make people want to click ads to leave.
I know there are other ways, and I'm getting into it a bit...there is Peerflix that pays you $100 a month minimum for putting their ads up on your site and i just got approved for that, so we're doing better.
Anyways, I'm open to ideas you have for how it could work, but I also don't want to turn the site into an ad-fest...
