Firefighter Jerry Sipe and his unit were honored today. Eventhough they were thousands of miles away from their honor, the crowds turned out for them. You see, it was a fundraiser to support our local troops while serving in Afghanistan that brought the group of firefighters and golf lovers together today.

While most people were enjoying the beautiful weather in Northern Kentucky today, many firefighters and others were raising money for Firefighter/Staff Sgt. Jerry Sipe and his unit that has been deployed to Afghanistan in service of their country.

Most people think of the military personnel as deployment as being their "job", however there are quite a few that are deployed that this is taking away from their primary "job" and especially their family.
