Is buying candy a crime? Apparently in the New Haven Connecticut school system it is. An eighth grade honor student was suspended for purchasing a bag of Skittles from another student during school hours. Apparently this was against the school's "wellness" policy. But is that really the issue? It seems that the school is against the sale and not so much the item being sold. After all candy is still allowed in lunchboxes. Perhaps the school needs to clarify their policy and disallow sales of any kind as opposed to punishing students for buying candy. Read more about this story at NeenMachine.com.
