We don't depend on a government institution for our children to have friends, it is called a neighborhood. Perhaps you've heard of them? They were invented by Mr. Rogers. They are very environmentally sound, you don't have to go anywhere except out the door to find friends. They are like a village, only smaller in some ways and larger in others.
It's a shame, most of the kids in my neighborhood have to wait until the weekend to play....all that homework puts a crimp in their free time.
