I've noticed a lot of bloggers changing their themes and I'm sure some of it was unnecessary work.
I've also noticed, while re-subscribing to feeds after clearing out my Google Reader account, that the buttons and links for feeds were either missing or hiding at the bottom of the page.
Splogs - we all hate them, but there are steps we can take to make sure they don't have any impact on our own blogs. My steps took me to a PR 5 after a yo-yo ride of 4 to 0 to 4 to 3 since October. One of the steps was reporting the spam in Google's index using the Google Webmaster Tools.
