Over 33 Percent of Blogs are Spam

Yikes!!! At the Future of Web Apps conference Matt Mullenweg ( the founder of WordPress) said that over 33% of blogs were so called 'splogs' (spam blogs). You'll find this spam in the blogs themselves, comments, trackbacks etc.

The total number of WordPress blog's is approx. 2,523,000 and there are more than 800, 000 splogs. So if you do the math that's 31.7% of blog's are spam. Round that up and you get one third of all blogs are spam. But it makes sense.
