Niche Blog vs. Social Blog

Someone sent me an email yesterday asking what the difference was between a social blog and a niche blog. So, to explain what I see as the differences between the two, I wrote this post. The difference between a Niche Blog and a Social Blog doesn't relate to the actual content so much as it relates to the way a blog is promoted and monetized.
