This isn't an article to bash Bloggingzoom by any means, just an out-loud thought about how Bloggingzoom works and helps blogs.

Blogging Zoom is a place where bloggers can share content that they and other bloggers have written. Blogging Zoom is the perfect place to go for people that are tired of the mainstream media and content. The users of Blogging Zoom determine which content is valuable and which content isnt. "Zooming" or voting positively for a post or article will give it more exposure and with enough Zooms, your content will hit the front page to be showcased to the masses. More...

This is the whole idea of BZ. If you already rank well on a keyword than do not submit your article you would be shooting yourself in the foot. Only submit articles you do not rank well.
I would like to point out though that if you look at MyBlogLog recent reader widget all have come from Blogging Zoom I looked at the stats to make sure.
I also compared past stats on your submissions compared to others that showed on the sidebar. Your submissions because are not keyword focus have had less organic traffic then others on the sidebar the same day so in reality you have benefited more from reader spillage than others have from you.
According to your archives your first post was May 30, 2007 Bloging Zoom started on November 1st but yet we are already outranking you on your own keywords. Think about that in 27 days we already have more authority then your site. This proves that what we originally envisioned is correct that we could provide an opportunity for people who would never have a chance to compete in a specific keyword to not only compete but even beat the big guys.
I would like to again be clear that Blogging Zoom is not for the large site with the authority, Blogging Zoom is for the small guy who wants to have a chance to get some readers from that big guy.
I've never been, or atleast never considered myself, to have any "authority" beyond what my actual articles say. Desty Online is my 1st attempt at an online presence, so my knowledge and experience of online activities has been entirely learned hands-on. As I learn something, I write about it; if I don't understand something, I write about it.
I don't see how that has a downside...but I don't totally see the big picture and how everything fits together. Especially when you guys talk about an authority on keywords.
I try to learn alittle bit more every week or so in order to make a better site. :)
