I’m sure many have noticed the potential for MyBlogLog as a traffic generating tool for websites. You leave your face here and there and curious blog owners will want to see who you are or at least what your blog is about. In fact I think it’s more effective than BlogRush which doesn’t even send me more than 1 or 2 referral daily.

The typical problogger wannabe will have 5-10 sites listed in his or her MyBlogLog profile. I have 9 sites there. However, I believe it’s not a good idea to list all of those site under one profile. If someone wants to find out about me, they’ll see all my sites including some inactive and insignificant ones. There is no way of highlighting a particular site

* as your primary website
* most active site or
* the website you want to promote

So what I did a few days ago was to have a split personality :) . I created an additional 2 new profiles. One as ProBloggerWiki webmaster and the other for this blog AndrewOoi.com. It’s a bit troublesome logging in and out to switch between different personality but I don’t do that. Instead, I use different browsers such as Flock and Opera to represent different personalities.

I would visit problogging related sites using my “ProBloggerWiki” profile and all others using my “Andrew Ooi” profile.

As an unexpected benefit to this is I have a new entry on the first page of Google for the search term “Andrew Ooi”. It’s my new MyBlogLog profile I created as “Andrew Ooi”.
