Google maintains something called the supplemental index. Some people call it the Google trash bin (or even Google Hell), but there’s actually a logical reason behind it’s use. Still, though, most webmasters believe it’s bad to be in the supplemental index. For, although Google says that the index does not affect PageRank, pages that appear on the main Google index will almost always show up first in a search. The supplemental index search results will only show up if there are very few or no results at all in the main index. This article explains how to find out what pages, if any, your site has in the Google Supplemental index and how to get them out.
