Blog Tip - Don't Just Read, Comment

A blog I wrote that encourages viewers to comments on blogs they read. If you've taken the time to view a blog, why not take the time to comment? Not only will you make the blogger feel good but you can receive a one-way link back to your site aka good Google juice! Sponsor good communication by commenting.

"I blog because I have something to say. I have thoughts and ideas I want to express to the world. Because I feel this way, I assume most other bloggers do too."

The Blogsphere would be a more interesting place if more people did take the time to comment on posts. I comment on quite a few posts and it does help the traffic to my blog. The only ones I don't normally comment on are Blogger Blogs jsut because they are so difficult to get the comment on. First I have to go to Blogger and sign in. Its a lot easier on Wordpress blogs.

It's actually pretty funny, but since I've been heavy into Blogging Zoom and other places the last few weeks, and seen my readership go up, the comments have gone down.

I usually only comment when I can actually contribute to the discussion. I just don't feel right saying "Hey! Nice post!" I'd like to add something more substantial as well as let the author know that I read the post.

Coincidental? I dunno but here's my first comment on blog post on your article about commenting. Anyways, completely true. Sometimes, if people dont comment on my articles, it feels as though the article went unnoticed and my time writing it was wasted. Comments make me feel like someone notices and someone cares. Great article

Whenever I read a really good post, I always comment. I try not to comment for the sake of commenting, but to find something to say about the topic. No matter how good the post, if there's something I don't agree with, I say it. I think honest criticism is the best way to thank the author.

I find it odd that your article on commenting on blog articles has 16 Zooms on BloggingZoom (17 with mine), but only four people (five with me) have bothered to actually comment on your site.

There's just no figuring some people out.

It has to be stressed, however, that on a Blogger blog, you need to make sure it is easy for those on different platforms to comment. I don't want to use a Blogger account, and I don't want to pick 'anonymous'. Good post!

I have to agree with dynamicvb, I just find Blogger blogs awkward to comment on. Generally though I will add a comment if I either like the post or have something to say. But I don't leave "Great post" type comments and I even delete them of my own blog because they don't contribute.

I am also a Blogger comment hater if you guys notice I have np commenting when I have something to say but man I really hate the way Blogger sets up it's commenting

I also bothered to comment on the site, and I must confess that I pushed myself to do it. I don't want to use my blogger account when I comment, I just want to be able to input my name, my blog address and to subscribe to future comments not by gmail, but to an email address of my choice. I comment on blogger blogs only when I really want to take part in the conversation.

I don't agree. If you liked the post but haven't got anything to say, nothing to add to the discussion then why say anything, click the subscribe link instead.

I'm not saying to comment if you have nothing to say but I'm sure there are times you can add to a discussion and you don't so take time to comment when you can.
