This isn't intended to be a comprehesive guide to proper post titles. It's intended to provide a clue to the clueless. I was inspired to write it by a comment on a previous post, along with the anticipation of another commenter. Creating a proper post title can be an art form in itself. My personal guide is at the lowest end of that spectrum.

Bland, generic, random "today sucks" sort of post titles just don't cut it. It may work well with strictly social type blogs, moms chatting back and forth etc, but I have learned from Court and Vic the importance of using proper post titles with keywords.
Following their advice has greatly increased my seach engine traffic. And I'm making money on my blog! :)
